The Saga of Tanya the Evil, Vol. 1: Deus Lo Vult by Carlo Zen

5.0

This story basically takes the idea that 'capitalism is the bane of religion' to make the MC insult 'Being X' who claims to be 'God'. This spirals into causing the hapless logician to be reborn as a baby girl with (dead?) parents in pre-WWI Germany (I mean... fantasy Germany obviously, they aren't throwing shade at any particular countries or anything...). This is supposed to cause MC (Tanya) to 'believe in God' again. She, of course, will have none of that.

One vaguely spoiler-ish part that always amuses me about this series is the huge difference when speaking 'I' sentences and 'Tanya' sentences. Clearly, even though he has been in Tanya's body for over ten years he still things of himself and Tanya as two separate people. It brings a whole new level to the vaguely philosophical edge to the story where she banters about war morality with the various generals.
