Where Am I Now? True Stories of Girlhood and Accidental Fame
by Mara Wilson
I read this because it was a book club selection, otherwise I probably would not have picked it up on my own. While celebrity memoirs aren't my favorite genre, I did find myself relating to some of Mara's experiences in unexpected ways. I also thought it was fascinating to learn about how she coped with discovering herself as an adult after such a successful and painful childhood. I think we all have had moments in our adolescence that we look back at with embarrassment, but Mara took those experiences and turned them into a strength by being vulnerable and courageous enough to share those experiences with others.
I only give this two stars, but I think other readers will rank this higher if this genre is what they're into.
