I've not read this since I was a child and had completely forgotten the stories, just remembering the basic premise that it is a tale of sisters. While I was initially a bit dismissive of the old fashioned and twee stories within I couldn't help but become fond of it. While Mrs. March is bringing up her girls to be good little homemakers, with a lot of moralising on the way, she is accepting of their choices. Jo's nonconformity was particularly inspiring.
