3.5 stars rounded up. Worth a read if you are into the thriller genre.

Was a little confused by part 2, then a major reveal made me so excited that read the book in one go.
While also a police procedural, this book leaned heavier on the thriller end of the spectrum. And it was a decent one at that, being both engaging and engrossing. It also had some fascinating depictions of an unhealthy relationship.

However, very unfortunately, the version my lib had decided to include an explanation the author wrote later for the first 4 books in the series. Reading an author saying along the lines that one character was so prepared for another character to take an interest in them was very uncomfortable to me. Will not continue with the series.
