A Conduit of Light by Chelsey Ann Tompkins
5.0

If you are looking for a book that will have you looking like the meme of Charlie from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia at book club night with your insane theories this is the one! A Conduit of Light ushered in the best conversation at book club nights hands down. Did that have to do with the fact that we were just adding on to one another's insane theories and pushing each other further down the rabbit hole? Yes. I thoroughly enjoyed the insane, yet organic, conversations that followed each week throughout the reading of this book. Dare I say I’m already looking forward to book two, because you know we already added that to our calendar.

For this being Chelsey Ann Tompkins first release, I have to say that this book is absolutely beautifully done. You can tell how much work and effort was put into the completion of this book. The world building and magic system in this series is unique and draws you in, I find myself wishing I too could be in Felgren Forest and whisper my name to the magical doors of an enchanted library, Who am I kidding, what girl doesn’t wish she could go to an enchanted library?

You get your pronunciation guide and a map, I know that’s not important to everyone but I know my people are out there. There’s romance and some light spice in all the right places. The multiple point-of-view had me turning pages. I've heard from others that the timeline was hard to follow but I can’t say that was an issue for me. I was absolutely drawn in and the only thing that kept me from devouring this book was the reading schedule that kept me from finishing it all in one sitting. This book was easily a 5 out of 5 for me just based on the conversations alone that it started with my friends, not to mention it is an absolutely amazing book. Highly recommend this as a buddy read or for your book club.
