This was a slow burner for me, not as instantly gripping as Small Pleasures or The Editor's Wife, but I stuck with it and found that it picked up around a third of the way through. I'm not personally a fan of flashbacks and found bit confusing here at first but it does all come together nicely in the end. There are some good twists and turns although the main one I thought was hinted at came to nothing. All in all, not my favourite of Clare Chambers' books but an interesting read.
