Ms. Marvel, Vol. 8: Mecca by G. Willow Wilson

5.0

"Most of the time, super-heroing means protecting the many from the evil of the few. But if there's one thing the last couple of days have taught me...it's that sometimes you gotta protect the few from the collective evil of the many. Which, as it turns out, is much, much harder."

I loved this comic and found Ms. Marvel very relatable in this volume. Kamala Khan is dealing with imposter syndrome and struggling to see her relevance as a superhero as she continues to battle injustice and gentrification in Jersey City. I felt that this volume highlighted how difficult it could be to continue fighting systemic injustices and how tiring it can be on our psyche. I wholeheartedly recommend this volume if you are going to pick up any one volume from the Ms. Marvel series.
