Oh how I loved this book! It’s a book about a 16 year old orphan that goes to Montana to try to finish proving up on her uncle’s land claim. She learns a lot about life, homesteading, and herself. Think Little House on the Prairie without Ma, Pa, or other siblings…just Laura. What Hattie lacks in family, she makes up for in friends. Should I ever feel a lack of courage, a quick thought towards Hattie should set me right. What a marvelous character! I look forward to reading the sequel. Highly recommended!
