Shoutout to Tales & Teacups for this ARC. As soon as I saw this was a gamer-centric plot, I was locked in. As a fan of all things nerdy, this really hit all the marks for me -- a beautifully developed fantasy game world, a brooding MMC, a sunshiny FMC, sassy best friend sidekicks, cozy comfy gaming nights, & emphasis on the importance of building a community. I think my main critique of this book is just that it moved so fast. I wanted more drawn out tension in some of the difficult decisions characters were making & a little more savoring of the budding relationship between Lucy & Elgin but overall I really enjoyed this book. I'm mad I finished it so quickly!! I would absolutely LOVE more stories from this group of friends.
