The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas

4⭐️ loved this!! i read this first to start my ToG journey and it absolutely ripped my heart out. almost 3am and i want to start the next book

i love that we see bits and pieces of celaena change from the first page to the last. it’s like, pre development. i love that even tho she’s an arrogant teenager you can see how big her scarred heart is, and that she would burn the world to the ground for the one person she loves. and i love how multi-dimensional she is and that she feels like a real person with so much personality. i’m very curious about the rest of her story, tho, including her origin that was only hinted at here.

can humans have mates? bc sam and celaena are 100% soulmates. i’m so glad i read the acotar series first bc if i started with this book i would’ve immediately had beef with SJM and never touched another book
