Alphabet Squadron by Alexander Freed

4.0

Set not long after the Battle of Endor (the destruction of the second Death Star), this story is about that awkward period when the Rebellion is trying to become a government, while at the same time scouring the galaxy for the stubborn remnants of the defeated Empire. A ragtag squadron of pilots with dark pasts and questionable motives comes together to root out the elite 204th TIE fighter squadron.

I enjoyed the almost entirely new cast of characters and settings we haven’t seen before in Star Wars stories, as well as the story itself. It did bug me a little that part of the excitement was the various secrets held by each character, yet only a couple of them were revealed in the end.

(I’ve published a longer review on my website.)
