Rhode is my new favorite book boyfriend from his slutty thigh tatt, dirty mouth and everything in between. The slow burn tension comes to a head in the most spectacular way with a much under appreciated trope of “let’s get it out of our system” These two fought to keep everything casual but couldn’t keep feelings from mixing in. Nina is riddled with anxiety and trying to just exist and meeting Rhode by chance really mixes things up. He takes care of her in more ways than one ;) and this MMC shows her that she’s been dating boys and has now moved on to a man!
I love when books don’t have epic relationships but rather ones that just occur in the normal space we all exist. God this book was amazing. I went from blushing, kicking my feet in the air, fanning myself to full blow crying on an airplane. No this book isn’t sad per se but moments were so sweet and meaningful I couldn’t stop the tears when you get to chapter 32 you’ll understand.
Much like everything in my life I relate it to a Taylor Swift song but this book highlighted the little things like wanting a person’s “mundane Saturdays” and throughout this book it just reminded me of New Years Day. Characters doing the simple things and being there to pick up bottles on New Year’s Day and that’s the most amazing things to read!
I love Meredith’s writing style and cannot wait to jump back into the boundless players series! Such a sweet spicy romance with a little hockey thrown in!
