I reallllly wanted to like this one but I felt the MCs acted way younger than their ages (24 & 27) which gave this book a YA vibe that I wasn’t expecting. ALSO, I struggle with the “reckless, impulsive, I have no plan and am surprised there are consequences” FMCs that seem to be prevalent in romantasy. If you’re going to be reckless, at least have a plan.

 

Also, also. I thought the Magic system was really unique and interesting but there was a part of the mechanics that kept taking me out of the story. This wasn’t that big of a deal but just added to all the other feelings. 

I know quite a few people that loved this but I just couldn’t get into it.
