The Atlas Paradox by Olivie Blake

1.5

Such a let down. This sequel was all over the place and yet absolutely nothing at the same time. Entirely "tell, not show" when it comes to the magic system, which makes for an incredibly boring read. There were good bones, with the mystery of what happened to Libby, and learning more about Tristan's powers, among other things, but yet we were bounced around subplots and given non-answers.

if this story was intended to be a series, it needs to be drawn out. Focus on one major plot and one subplot at a time. We have questions about Atlas, Dalton, Gideon, Tristan, Libby, that girl from the 80's that was shoved down our throats, Gideon's mom, Tristan's dad, Callum and his family, and freaking God themself at this point. Probably more but that's the point. There is too much of nothing and as a reader I am just not connecting with the story.

I doubt I'll read any further.... Maybe only if I have absolutely nothing else on my shelf at the time.
