The Lost Slayer
by Christopher Golden, Joss Whedon
Really loved this book, I think it might be one of the best Buffy novels I've read. It managed to hit character notes, give us an emotional storyline, and then by jetting us into a parallel world it meant that there could be some real stakes (no pun intended) without needing to break canon of the TV show. I actually found myself getting quite emotional at some of the alternate timeline deaths that happened.
I will say though that the fight scenes were not my favourite, and the ending after Buffy returned felt like it dragged just a little too much.
