booksnorkel 's review for:
The Drowned Cities
by Paolo Bacigalupi
This book was not what I wanted. It's not what I thought it was, and it's not what I wanted to read at all.
I had thought that this book would be a continuation of Ship Breaker, that it would be the rest of that story. What it was instead was an alternative America where there is now tribal warfare like in some parts of Africa. Child soldiers, torture, maiming all of it.
So if I had wanted to read something like this I would have read a true account because I would have chosen it for myself.
SO, it was Ok. I wouldn't have read it if I had known, I wouldn't recommended it without letting the person know what it's really about. For people 15 on up who like war survivor story.
