Well and Truly Pucked by Lauren Blakely
4.0
Just when I think I have an understanding of this series, LB takes it up a level by adding in another gorgeous boyfriend. It is an unconventional romance with three hockey team mates falling for the yoga instructor. Sometimes I will admit to wondering if this could really work, and in some circumstances I believe it could. You’d have to be open minded, able to share equally and understand that love comes in all forms. Who am I to judge? It’s not for me, because I’m extremely jealous but if these people can make it work for them, then go for it. The Why Choose trope is not one I’ll read on a regular basis, but I love the world LB has created within these books. And I feel she and I have similar views on relationships, in that it’s not all about the dude pleasing and doing things for his woman, it works both ways. She can plan dates and outings just as much as he does, it’s why it’s called a partnership. Another thing that resonated with was the list of things a good boyfriend does. And even though I’ve been married for over thirty six years, I still have a good man. I had my own bout of motion sickness / vertigo this week and he came home asap, even though there’s nothing he could do, he knew I needed him to just be here to keep me calm. A bit like Rhys finds talking with Briar calms him from any anxiety. Each of the boyfriends had ways of adding to the dynamic and incorporating each others ideas without prejudice. Briar is one lucky and happy lady.
