I Am Still Alive by Kate Alice Marshall

This was really (unexpectedly) good! When I took this out of the library I didn't realize this was YA, and honestly, I find that most YA thrillers suck. Fortunately, that wasn't the case with this book. Aside from the set-up, this was a pretty run-of-the mill survival story, but the author did a great job of making it realistic and compelling. She also did a great job with Jess' character. Since Jess is the only character for 90% of this book, it would have sucked if she was annoying, but that definitely wasn't the case. She was a bit whiny at the beginning, but I understood why she was acting the way that she did. And she definitely grew a ton during the book.

I'd definitely recommend this to people! It would be a great book to read in the winter by a fire.

SpoilerI really do wish the dog hadn't died though.
