This book was a gripping, quick read. Good hybrid of the suspense and romance genres. It feels a bit self aware; a book about a female author, writing a book, and reading a book by a female author... very inception-esque vibes! It felt like it was trying too hard to be ominous from chapter one; but it did live up to the threat with intensity. I have a hard time trusting the most obvious answer laid out in mysteries, which proved mostly correct, but also didn't twist the exact way I thought it would. Overall I'm happy with it, although the main narrator could have had a slightly longer resolution/growth arc. Rather 'gone girl' as well... girl on a train - there's a lot in this genre now.
