Into the Dark by Claudia Gray

5.0

I found this book to be amazing honestly. Into the Dark serves as a sort of another pov of the Great Disaster + indirect sequel to Light of the Jedi. It starts with padawan Reath Silas, who is to embark on a journey towards the Starlight Beacon and rejoin his master. Only this is Star Wars, so they get sidetracked, and chaos and adventure ensues.

Reath, alongside the other Jedi characters, all have questions, and they present different meanings of being a Jedi. I enjoyed the insight this story gave to Jedi and emotions, especially grief. It is interesting how they process it as a person and as a collection of Jedi. I feel emotions is going to be a key theme as I continue to read this series and as these characters grow.

I also enjoyed seeing the different paths or professions within the Jedi Order. Reath likes spending time in the archives, Cohmac specializes in folklore and Orla wants to become a Wayseeker. It shows a diverse face on how the Jedi Order works within the galaxy.

This is a five stars read for me and further proof that Claudia Gray's writing is top tier.
