Call Me By Your Name by André Aciman

3.0

"Call me by your name and I'll call you by mine."

Call Me By Your Name was a beautifully written novel. The prose was mesmerizing and completely transports you into Elio's world. Sadly the writing was the only thing I really enjoyed about this book. I didn't really love the relationship between Elio and Oliver. It seemed more like an unhealthy obsession than love to me. It's really hard for me to put my thoughts about this book into words. It's like, I don't love it, but I understand it. I see what it was trying to do. I just don't like the way they went about it, ya know?

Overall, Call Me By Your Name is a silently and subtlety beautiful story that I wish I loved more. It is a book that I can appreciate the beauty and symbols in, but that I just can't get behind recommending to anyone.
