Ok. So I inadvertently started reading this series out of order. I started with book 4, Best Served Cold, which I loved and had no idea at the time it was part of a series.
Then I learned it was part of a “Trilogy”, and so I got the second book, which was this book.
I thought it was okay, but I wasn’t enjoying it as much as the “first” book I read. It wasn’t until about a third of the way through that I realized I was reading book 2, but I had started with book 4.
But I’m into it. I ended up really liking this book, too. There’s characters who was a main character in book 4 as grizzled war veteran, but in book 2, he had a smaller part as a greenhorn. Which means he saw some sh*t in book 3 and I can’t wait to find out what happened. I’m going to move on now to books 1,3, then 5 and so on. It’s a happy accident that I think will lead to a unique reading experience.
