I loved the Silo series and thought the writing was absolutely brilliant, keeping you on your toes throughout all three books. So, naturally, I was excited when I saw Sand in the book store; I didn't hesitate to buy it. Sadly, it was nowhere near as good as it's predecessors. I didn't find the characters particularly engaging and the world that was laid out was not of the same quality as that in the Silo series. Obviously it had 3 books to flesh out it's world but overall I was left unsatisfied, especially with the ending.
