Get a Life, Chloe Brown
by Talia Hibbert
1.5
I did genuinely enjoy parts of this book, but the character and relationship development were so awful I couldn’t stand Chloe and Red as a couple by the end. The dialogue is too purposefully quirky to be enjoyable, the smut too dramatized and unintentionally cringy to be tolerable*, and the conflict (particularly at the end) is too rushed to land like it should. I did appreciate the chronic illness rep, which was handled pretty well, but that’s about it.
*I’m seriously confused about the sex in this book. Who is dirty-talking like that irl and how can I find them and tell them to stop
