Meet Me in Los Feliz by Kelly Reynolds
funny
lighthearted
fast-paced
3.5
This novella was short, sweet, spicy, and hilarious — yet also cringey. I’ve been wanting to read a romance with fat girl x short king rep because that’s my husband and I. I am easily 100 pounds heavier than him and he is 4 inches shorter than me — but we never see that represented in any media. So thank you to Kelly Reynolds for that representation! Since this book was so short (dub, it’s a novella) there wasn’t much time for character development, though I did really enjoy the characters and want to read the second novella in the series. I did unfortunately find some of moments cringe-worthy. To be fair though, that was kinda the point lol.
Despite that, there were so many lines that I found myself laughing at or saying “aw 🥹” I’ll include some note-worthy quotes below!
The dedication: “For all the fat queens, shirt kings, and the people lucky enough to fall in love with us.”
“Her eyes lifted to mine. They were the perfect shade of my favorite English breakfast tea, two sugars, one milk, just the way I liked it.”
“My Mr. Darcy kink had officially been engaged.”
“I will not wank off in my place of business.” 😭
“I’d never been a religious man, but Jesus fucking Christ, I could’ve sworn I saw heaven.”
“The twelve days of Christmas? More like the twelve days of Dickmas.”
“She’d given me a home. I was finally home for Christmas.”
