The Summer I Turned Pretty Trilogy: The Summer I Turned Pretty; It's Not Summer Without You; We'll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han

3.0

So I technically didn't read all three books, but I really liked the first two. The depiction of adolescence is so painfully accurate and relatable, especially Belly's emotional experience of it all. By far, though, my favorite part is the relationship between the mom who are best friends and their relationships with their children, particularly Belly. It's a 3/5 stars for me.

Slight spoiler: The reason I am hesitant to read the third book is because I peeked ahead and saw my favorite character doing something awful. I have heard a lot about what happens and why the author wrote it that way, and I just don't think I can bear to see my fave fall from grace.
