Can't Spell Treason Without Tea by Rebecca Thorne

adventurous lighthearted medium-paced

4.0

Reyna is one of the Queen’s private guards, trained to be a fighter and protector. Kianthe is a powerful mage with incredible powers. Both of them want to run away to open a cozy little bookshop that serves tea. One day, they flee to Tawney to make their dream come true. As they settle into Tawney, they build the shop of their dreams and make new friends, while surrounded by mysteries and even dragons.

This book was so cozy and romantic while still having elements of danger and adventure. Kianthe and Reyna were adorable together. I also loved so many of the side characters!  Kianthe’s magic was a great addition to the story and I also loved the inclusion of dragons. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book in this series!

I listened to the audio which was fantastic. The narrator did a fantastic job embodying the cozy vibes of the story and giving characters their own distinct voices.
