Final Thoughts
I think Eclipse is one of the stronger books in the series overall. A definite improvement on the slow pace of New Moon and the introduction of Jasper and Rosalie’s backstories adds a lot more to the world building for the vampires. I also found a lot of the work going on with the newborns was interesting, from Jasper’s descriptions of the newborn wars to the way they were introduced with Victoria. This book’s action was slightly more interesting as well, perhaps because Bella was involved but wasn’t really alone in the climax. That being said, I do wish these books accepted their romance genre a bit more and hadn’t been packed with so much otherwise unnecessary content (love triangle I’m looking at you).
