Wow! Kate Winslet really surprised me with her versatility in the voices she did for this audiobook. My husband and kids had never read Matilda, so this was a fun road trip family listen. That being said, I had forgotten (or maybe listening to it magnified it?) how absolutely horrid the parents and Mrs Trunchbull are, so families should be warned--this is is probably most suitable for older children who won't imitate the rudeness. My dad didn't like Roald Dahl books generally because of how adults are portrayed--which is definitely true of this one.
