I liked this one, but it felt a little lacking from the overall plot.
This story was super character heavy and there wasn’t too much action which is a little different than the other books in the series.
Flora was so heartbreaking to read about and her character growth was hard fought. She overcomes her insecurities around her weight caused by constant bullying growing up. She learns to stand up for herself. Alec was just absolutely awful at communicating. Just getting to the point of having a conversation was the majority of the plot.
The “action” side of the plot had to do with choosing to go to Old Den or deal with the challenge for alpha of Salt Mountain. The ending made sense for both Alec and Flora and Alec was able to redeem himself for the past terrible things he did.
The epilogue gives me hope that one of the book plots of the series is going to resolve the big kidnapping plot happening in other books. I feel like if I was reading that part without having read the earlier books, I would have been confused.
