Just when I didn't think the Wayfarer could get any better... From what I've seen this book is a bit divisive in so far as some prefer the first over this and vice versa. I am in the latter camp. I loved this one. The shrinking of the cast from 5-6 characters to just 2 was more my speed. I liked the deeper dive. I loved how these two characters were woven together. Their stories were perfectly complementary. Chambers has an amazing ability to write painful and emotional stories that are ultimately uplifting and hopeful. This is such a hard balance to strike as it could easy tip into cheesy. It is a very thought-provoking novel as well, delving into what it means to be human, into nature versus nurture, etc. If you like found family stories this and so far all Wayfarer books fit the bill.
