Four Seconds to Lose by K.A. Tucker

4.0

Wow! I was really impressed with Four Seconds to Lose. I figured that this book would be a little different than the first two with it being Cain's story, but I wasn't expecting the angst and suspense! This book took me by surprise- in a good way!

This is the third book in the Ten Tiny Breaths series. In case you are wondering, it can easily be read as a standalone. The characters from the first two books have very small parts in this book (although it was fun getting to see what they were up to).

Basically, this book is about Cain, the owner of the strip club from the first book. Cain is a good guy. He runs his business as responsibly and as respectfully as possible. He has reasons for doing what he does and how he does it, but you'll have to read the book to find out why.

Charlie is the club's newest dancer. She intrigues Cain, but he has rules about not dating/sleeping with women who work for him.

So put two and two together and you get a lot of sexual tension. Charlie's backstory adds a lot of suspense to the story as well. It was all just so stressful fun...entertaining. :)

This is a great series. It is well written with great characters. Each book tells a complete story about one of the characters with no cliffhangers. If you are like me and have had this series on your to-read list forever, pick them up today. You won't be disappointed.
