The story is mildly intriguing, but James Patterson is so poor at writing from the female perspective. I'm honestly shocked that this was one of my favorite books as a teenager because the amount of unnecessary material about sexual assault and myopic views of humanity make it nearly unreadable. I wanted to put this down so many times. I laughed or felt appalled at the bad writing so many times. The plot was rough and didn't even have that great of a payoff. Really, the worst book I've read in my adulthood. Smh.
