A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb

5.0

This book was a re-read for me. After reading it the first time, it was instantly added to my list of all time favorite books but I haven't read it since then. I have referred this book to many people over the years. Recently I let a friend borrow it but when I tried to describe it to her I had a tough time finding the words. I had almost completely forgotten the book. I remembered the basic story, I remembered the beginning and I knew how it ended but everything in the middle was gone from my memory.
It's odd reading a book at one point in your life and not reading it again for over a decade. I'm still me but my outlook on life is very different now than it had been in 2005. While I still love this book, I feel it had less impact on me than it did the first time around. There also happens to be a sequel now so I am excited to see where Laura Whitcomb went with the story.
