One of those books that I re-read every so often because the storytelling is familiar and comforting. And we certainly need comfort during this trash fire of a year.
One of the few things that annoys me in this version is that the Beast never explains why he is so attached to his rose garden and so upset about Beauty's father taking one of the flowers. You get the feeling he was just making up an excuse to frighten the poor guy out of his wits.
