The Wall by Marlen Haushofer

2.0

First third of the book seemed quite promising, describing how she found herself totally alone and isolated from the world, with her animal companions picked up along the way, but the rest of the book was all the same, describing her daily activities of milking the cow, hunting for deer, chopping firewood, making butter, picking berries, darning her socks. Was so confused at the very end when she described the death of Lynx, when it's earth-shattering news that there's another human!! Just a couple of paras and the book quickly ended. Urgh. So unsatisfied!
