Yet another Corinne Michaels series for us to fall in love with! Forbidden Hearts gives us the single dad/nanny trope with Asher and Phoebe, and a few other fun tropes sprinkled in. Asher has a daughter who is deaf and uses sign language to communicate. Phoebe left her college audiology program after she was caught in a situation that left her embarrassed and running back home to research other colleges to transfer to.
One of Phoebe's dad's employees has a deaf daughter and he's looking for a nanny since his daughter's mother has to be out of the country for a few months due to work. Due to their town's small size, Phoebe seems to be the only one who is qualified for this role.
This book also has amazing co-parenting which we need to see more of, and I wish that was the norm. There is a lot of tension between Phoebe and Asher due to Asher's job, and the chemistry between them is even better. Add in not having a third-act break up, Asher actually saying how he feels and fighting for Phoebe, and I'm sold! There's also a plot twist you won't see coming.
Zachary Webber and Desiree Ketchum are paired perfectly together to narrate this book. Zach nails the fun dad voice but doesn't skimp on the grump who is trying to resist his boss' daughter. Desiree has a perfect voice for a young woman and I love how she portrayed Phoebe's emotions and determination.
THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU IF: You love magical age gap single dad/nanny romances with lots of tension and a hot breaking point.
