I began to enjoy this book the further I got into it. I wasn’t hooked right away like I was with In A Jam but it gradually got better.
I said this in my In A Jam review but the book is too long for what it is. This one more so than In A Jam. The 60% mark until about 80% was spent just in limbo. The feelings and plot was regurgitated again and again. The only new/exciting part was during that time wasthe cafe incident with Joey
I was left rather confused during majority of this limbo part which maybe was intentional on Kate’s end because it was reflective of the characters feelings. But… as a reader, I’m not looking to be left confused from a romance book. The 20% of that 30% really wasn’t necessary and leads me to believe the page count was more important than the integrity of the story.
I also didn’t find the ending to be as rewarding as I think readers deserved. Especially after reading almost 200 pages of “i don’t know” and “what if”. I am not interested in the second book of this series because of these reoccurring issues.
With that being said, it was a sweet love story.
