This was quite boring. The mystery plot was really slow and did not warrant the page length. The twists at the end were very late and lost surprise-value (I didn't see those reveals coming) for me quite quickly. The overall theme/message was important but delivered in a boring way. There was nothing new; not in a new perspective, not in a different way, nothing. The characters were boring, except for Basil and Persephone. They reminded me of Chiamaka and Devon from Ace of Spades and wished they were the main characters instead of Sade. Her twist at 75% mark was somewhat interesting but too late for me to fully care.
Overall, I am very disappointed. I will check out future books but with lower expectations.
