I made it through the first novella in the book before realizing that it is connected to the larger Dark Tower series. The second novella is tied to the first one, but it's almost like whiplash moving from 'Low Men in Yellow Coats' to 'Hearts in Atlantis'. I also have no great love of the game Hearts and King spend a LOT of time talking about the game. I suppose that makes sense given the title of the novella, however, it makes the story feel even further disjointed from the first novella. As such, I didn't read the 3rd novella in this book and will finish it in conjunction with the Dark Tower Series when I read it.
