I did always like this one as a story although the Calormenes are just really blatantly generalized middle eastern stereotypes and everything about that culture is portrayed as bad or at least lesser than the "beautiful white Narnians..."
Even the food which was actually kinda funny...When Shasta arrives in Narnia he's like "Ah finally....bread and butter" lol
So thats....yeah not great.

Anyway, I also feel like the Aslan is Jesus allegory is WAAAAY more overt in this one than in the lion the witch and the wardrobe.

So yeah I'd probably give this like 3.5 but I'm knocking it down to 2 for the racism. This is really an "of its time" disclamer book
