The Gift of Being Yourself: The Sacred Call to Self-Discovery
by David G. Benner
challenging
hopeful
reflective
slow-paced
This book is both comforting and painfully revealing. After a first slow reading, I feel the need to read through it again, continuing the practices David Benner describes. And then I feel compelled to read the first book in the series, possibly this one again, then the final book in the trilogy. I foresee revisiting this book in the future and recommending it to many. I’m still weighing some of the author’s views that are new to me (hence, in part, the need for a second reading), but the growth inspired by this book is well worth any bits and pieces I may or may not agree with.
