Sawyer is a romance author who finds herself with some intense writer's block. Mason is an actor who is also a hopeless romantic, and the media has recently given him a bad rep. After an elevator meet-cute, when Sawyer and Mason run into each other again, they decide to have a one-night stand. This turns to more when they decide to help each other out. Mason will help Sawyer by giving her inspiration to write again, and Sawyer will help Mason by de-romanticizing everything so he can be less of a hopeless romantic. Can they do this as friends after already having a one-night stand, or will the lines start to blur?
I loved Mason! I thought he was such a sweetheart and just needed someone to match his energy. While Sawyer was more hesitant as a non-romance believer, I understood where she came from based on her past, and I genuinely wanted her to find love that proved her past was in the past.
I enjoyed the adventures that Mason and Sawyer went on to try to de-romanticize everything that Mason loved. I thought the banter was witty and the story flowed nicely. Mason and Sawyer bounced off of each other so easily that it was hard not to root for them.
After so long, it seemed to drag a bit but overall I did enjoy my time with this one and enjoyed the story.
