I won't lie, I struggled a bit with this book. For me, the third person writing style took away from the book and I feel it would have been better in first person. Because of the third person writing style, there were parts of the book I struggled with. Pulling me out of the story and a few times I had to double back to check who specifically was speaking.

I also felt a lot of the banter between Evie and The Villain was too forced and the jokes fell flat. Truthfully, this felt like it was meant for younger readers and maybe that's my fault for going in based on recommendation only.

I  overall enjoyed the premise of the book and there had been a plot twist I didn't expect. Overall didn't love it, didn't hate it. Just feel kinda meh on it.
