Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami
2.0
I enjoyed small parts of this book and given its length, those bits of enjoyment were worth the read. Murakami’s ability to inject magical realism into the banal is fascinating when successful but utterly boring when not. I don’t doubt some metaphors flew over my head and I’ll give credit to his ability to keep me reading through complete confusion but of his novels I’ve enjoyed this one the least. Turning the last page left me unsatisfied.
