The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

3.0

around 5 years ago, I read the first chapter of this book and then I never picked it up again. finally got back to it lol

This book was honestly a solid start to a series. It was not amazing but I was entertained. I think I’m more invested in the character dynamics rather than the actual plot. I enjoyed how the characters interacted and I think there is a lot of potential for the series.

I’m going to be honest, I am a little confused about the plot because there is A LOT of stuff going on but I still enjoyed it.

I liked all the characters. I think my favorite is Ronan or Noah, but I liked Gansey, Blue, and Adam a lot as well. One of my favorite scenes was when Noah’s ghost was writing “murdered” on the windows of the abandoned car and Ronan went up to it and wrote “remembered.” I definitely teared up at that point, it was so touching.

I like that it’s slow burn for all the relationships because I feel like all the characters need to go through immense development before they have any kind of romantic plot.

I’m planning on continuing this series. I’ve heard it gets better as it goes on, so I’m optimistic.
