Oh man, where do I begin.
Okay, so the problem for me with this book was I would've given it five stars until around the 55% mark. The pacing felt great and then it just fell off for me. I felt like I had reached the climax of the story, and then I realized it was only the halfway mark. What happened for me was all that excitement just fizzled out, and by 70% 1 was ready for the book to be over. It felt way too long and to be honest, by the end of the book l didn't feel satisfied. I felt confused like, "what did I read?", but NOT in the good way.
Another issue was I found myself frustrated by all the characters. I didn't really love anyone (except Dan, Dan is great). The longer it went on it just felt like none of the characters had much growth, and don't get me wrong, I understand what was happening to the main character, but even by the end I didn't really feel for him. The only person I really cared about was Dan.

I think this book would've been much better had the length not been as long. I think my issue with the characters would've still been there, but I think I could've overlooked it. I think the premise was super cool and loved the documentary style, but I don't think the story was as fleshed out as it could've been.
