this is not my usual genre (reading this for the genre challenge!) but i was surprised at how much i liked it! there were times where i felt like the pace was off & inconsistent, and one thing that particularly bothered me is the book takes place in california but the author makes the characters say things that no californian would actually say 😠it didn’t allow me to fully submerge into the story because it was so jarring to see british slang/terms from west coasters. also the t*ylor sw*ft references were tacky, misplaced, and entirely unnecessary <3 i hated them with a passion, turned me off a ton honestly!
i’m giving this a 3.5/5 stars. i liked the story and the romance scenes & i absolutely loved the characters. i plan on reading the next book in the series too!
