A Shot of Gin by Phoebe Wagner

5.0

If you're looking for a fun and unique Halloween adventure, with all the supernatural homies and then some, this is it y'all. Apparently I'm in my character growth era or something because not unlike my last review, Gin has a long way to go in relearning how to not only trust those around her, but also herself. And while part of her just wants to be a normal gal making a life for herself in the heart of Reno, the rest of her knows that's just not in the cards for her. She also doesn't want to lose all the people from Reno's Darkside who have become the family she can lean on when push comes to shove. In untangling the mystery of how and what she came to be, Gin winds up having to face some hard truths in order to save herself and the city she calls home.

I'm not even sure what to compare this to because it's just different but so fun. It was so easy to get into the world and the cast of characters is diverse and I loved getting to know them all really. Everything wraps up nicely at the end though I feel like there's an open door to see what's next for Gin and Colton and if that ever happens I'll be super stoked.
