A Court Bright and Broken by Amy Patrick

4.5

This slow burn romantasy is a Cinderella retelling with hints of Ella Enchanted and a bit of ACOTAR thrown in for good measure. It was such a fun read and had so many twists and interesting surprises. I still have so many questions and am looking forward to seeing how Stellon and Raewyn get out of the predicament they find themselves in. I loved getting both of their points of view and am hoping that there is a way to make life better for both the human village and the elven lands as well. The world building was very well done and I want to learn so much more about their history and culture. Raewyn was so relatable and I could truly see how she would make a deal with her village witch to help feed her family and heal her father, only to find herself over her head in an impossible situation. Stellon was in a very difficult position, as well, and now finds himself having to make difficult decisions. I love his relationship with his sister, Mareth, and his brother, Pharis, even though Pharis has bad reputation. I’d really love to get to know Mareth better and see Pharis redeemed in the next book. And, they really need to overthrow their father. I really can’t wait for book two. I absolutely need more of these characters and this world!

Thank you, Thenerdfam and Amy Patrick for letting me have an arc of this story. The content of my review has not been affected by this in any way.
